I love Play-Doh, Evan does not.
Autumn's school usually has a "50 days of school" sock hop celebration. So I decided to celebrate 50 days of no school. We dressed up in 50s attire. I told the kids we'd have a party, by which I meant we could dress up and have ice cream and soda. At bed time that night Violet expressed her disappointment in our "party" because she thought we'd have friends over.
Violet makes a very convincing "Scarlet Witch"
More 50s Day photos (Lark did not want to wear what I picked out)
Fancy Soda
We went on a hike with grandma Norby. And by hike I mean we climbed over a ton of steep rocks, I nearly died of anxiety but only one kid fell and recovered quickly.
Perler beads were one of the crafts I picked up from Hobby Lobby before they closed down. Autumn has especially enjoyed these and even made some doll furniture.
The kids getting creative outside.
We're still playing lots of Thirteen Dead End Drive
Mother's Day!
We hosted a tea party at Grandma Linda's house out back. The kids each made her a flower from Perler Beads and we decorated place mats. Violet suggested Grandma change into something fancier once she noticed grandma was wearing slacks and not a dress. The kids helped serve danishes, hot cocoa, and tea.
Lots of chalk drawing and playing outside whenever it is warm enough.
I made Evan fish and rice in honor of the Survivor season finale.
We are very grateful to have grandparents near by to play with.
We are going on lots of walks and bike rides this spring.
We have NOT enjoyed our remote learning experience, but Autumn lived for her online meet ups with her classmates, even if no one else stayed on the call to chat and see Autumn's puppet show.
The kids spent a couple hours outside one day, alternating between hanging out under the umbrella and running through the sprinklers.
The kids (except Lark who was pouting in the car) made the local newspaper for our chalk drawings outside Evan's clinic.
Evan took a much needed day off of work for our anniversary. We went to an elementary school and played at the park in the morning.
In the afternoon David and Linda watched the kids and we played Frisbee golf and had some drive-thru Panera Bread.
Playing with Lego this season of life has been a constant. Maverick likes to make and remake his creations.
Olive got bubbles for her birthday. We had several fun days with the bubbles until someone spilled the bottle. (They lasted longer than I though they would.)
More front yard sprinklers.
Lark, Olive and I took a Sunday afternoon walk. Lark walked the entire way in the gutter. She was pretty soaked by the time we got to the Davidsons.
Lark told me she wanted her hair messy so it would look curly. SO I just curled her hair!
We were able to start having some outdoor play dates with our close friends.
We went back to the "hiking" spot, but skipped all the scary rock climbing.
(Lark slipped when we were playing at the middle school)
We sneaked into our friend's backyard one day when they were out of town.
