Our week in review

Autumn had a big week!! First off she was born. Then she celebrated her first Christmas. Had a photo shoot with the Norby clan. Went to her first doctor's appointment. Started drinking real milk and having real poopie diapers. Had her first bath. Really learned to breast feed (thank you nipple shield). And yesterday had quite the outing at the mall so mom could do some major couponing at Macys and score lots of great outfits for her with Grandma Norby, mom, and dad.

Delayed Tradition

In my family we like to play Bingo on Christmas Eve. I'm not sure how or why the tradition started, but alas it has stuck. I gathered "boobie" prizes (as my mom would say-why? Again I don't know) for months to play on Christmas Eve with Evan's family. Then Autumn decided to make her appearance, so we were a little busy and had to wait to play. Luckily there was still some family in town to share my tradition with.

Klinton got the prize everyone wanted to trade for, but he was happy with it and didn't want to trade.

The digital age

Evan and I are pretty much obsessed with our little Autumn! It's a good thing we have a digital camera, because we can't stop taking pictures of her :) She changes so much every day. At the end of the day I get so sad when I realize my baby is one day older.Just hanging out with mom and dad. She still loves that tongue. I'm really curious to see what color eyes she'll end up with. Sometimes I think they are slate blue other times light brown and still other times they look gray or even green.
12/27/11 41 weeks-we have a baby:)

11/28/11 BATH TIME! Oh how she hated that! Grandma Norby helped Evan give Autumn her first bath...

Day 2

My sister in law Sara organized a family photo shoot since most (just missing one grand kid) of the family had been in town for Christmas. Luckily Autumn arrived so she got to be in the photos as well. We took the pictures at the Mesa Arts Center and it was quite chili since it was early still, but at least the sun wasn't in our eyes."I love you from the bottom of my butt...I would say heart but my butt is bigger"
isn't she so cute?
Hamming it up. "take a picture of me in this tree"
The AZ cousins with grandma and grandpa
Our family...I'm so obsessed with us!
Daddy's little girl. She just loves him. Evan can swaddle so well now, he sings to her and can calm her down better than anyone else. Autumn likes to move her head and follow daddy's voice, especially when he sings to her. He is such a great dad. I've had to teach him a few things like when putting on a onesie and pants it's easier to put the onesie on first and then the pants, but for the most part he has great insticts.

Christmas!!!

Evan and I made sure every nurse, CNA, and well basically anyone who came into our room to poke or prod us knew that we wanted to be discharged as soon as possible-almost to the extent that we were annoying them so much they would have kicked us out anyways. However the earliest they would let us leave was 24 hours. So early Christmas afternoon (good thing Autumn arrived early on Christmas eve:) we left the hospital and couldn't be more happy to go home with our healthy happy baby girl and spend Christmas with our family.

Little photo shoot while we were waiting for Cheryl (our rock star nurse that I'm sure was glad to get rid of us and our "know it all attitudes") to discharge us

First car ride! Man do I love that car seat. It is so easy to put on the base and the straps are way easy to adjust, so I never pinch little Autumn.

The Arizona cousins. They were so patient and waited for us to come home before they opened their presents.

The Norby's!!! My 13 year old brother-in-law counted all the presents...It was quite a lot!

Wade and Klinton helped open Autumn's gifts...it was pretty funny to see them open up a bunch of pink girl things. Klinton opened up a book from grandma Pattie and grandpa Brian and was disappointed that there wasn't any money in the pages of the book, like when he gets books from his grandma Norby.

Aunt Sara!

A Norby Family tradition, the eggnog toast. This year we toasted to Autumn!

She's Here!

Autumn Nadalia Norby was born Saturday December 24th at 11:11 am. Weighing in at 7 lbs 4 ozs and 20 inches long. She is just about perfect. It took us a while to settle on a name, but we knew we wanted a name that started with an "A" so her initials would be A.N.N which is for a couple of Evan's relatives as well as mine. Her middle name means "born on Christmas day" in Portuguese. Evan served his church mission in Portugal so it was only fitting that we went with Nadalia opposed to Noel or Natalie.

First photo

She is obsessed with her tongue. Some volunteers gave us a stocking full of things for the baby as well as the stocking she is snuggled in.

New dad!
First visitor, Grandma Norby Check out all that hair...almost time for a hair cut! Next set of visitors. Kallie was so excited that there wasn't an RSV restriction so that she could come visit the "mortuary ward"

Our forever family

Christmas Eve Eve

December 23rd activities included: Hobby Lobby run, softball at the park (I ran to first base then Klinton was my base runner), Costco trip, pizza dinner, Home Alone, Evan's family tradition of Christmas Caroling, and going into labor...more on that later

Chaga Chaga Choo Choo

Evan has been SO excited for Christmas this year, particularly for his train! Evan bought a train set and tracks the Christmas before he left on his mission. He hasn't been able to use it in 11 years. His parents drove here for Christmas so Evan and his train track were finally reunited. And let me tell you-these boys have been talking about it for weeks. Evan even went and purchased more track to expand it and made grids and charts for the track layout.

Look at those giddy faces!
The little boys were so patient while it took Evan and his brother several hours to set up the track plus a couple extra hours at the train store and hardware store.
Test run! They even made a tunnel and a mini-train station out of cardboard boxes.
After dinner we met up with Evan's Dad's cousin and her family at the Mesa temple and looked at the light display and manger scene.
