Golden Birthday

I love planning my kids' birthday parties!  This year I planned a "Golden Birthday" party for Maverick and Violet (they turned 4 on the fourth).  Maybe next year I'll let them come up with their own theme...maybe.

My babies when they woke up!
The kids always get to open one present on the morning of their birthday and its always clothes.  Violet got a pair of pants and two shirts and Maverick got three shirts.  He was miffed that he didn't get any pants so he insisted on wearing his PJ pants all day.

It was really hard for Autumn not to have her birthday on the same day as Maverick and Violet.  It felt a bit like Christmas, but only a few of us were celebrating.

We had a couple friends over for a play date.  We had a scavenger hunt in the backyard to find some GOLDEN Oreos and golden chocolate coins.

Maverick only wanted a picture of his backside
Maverick and Violet got to try our Ice Skating lessons.  They were so excited and wore their helmets on the ride over.  I however was not impressed with the new teacher and the supervision on the ice so we ended up not signing them up for classes.
I found this cool edible gold spray for their cakes.  Yes cakes.  I've heard the thing that bugs adult twins the most is having to share a birthday cake, so this year I did two.
Violet's was suppose to have a "V" on it, but I messed it up. Oops

Violet got a throw back Fisher Price cassette player/microphone, Batgirl barbie, new sheets for her new twin bed, American girl (Target) from Grandma Pattie, and new gymnastic outfits
Maverick also got new sheets, a Cars Monopoly game, a captain America action figure, a new suit, a Transformer truck that hauls smaller "Rescure Bots".

Then we had ANOTHER scavenger hunt so the kids could find their gift from mom and dad.

We ended up at Grandma and Grandpa's house
They made this awesome treasure box

BIKES.  Evan picked them out.  We took the kids out to practice without training wheels and both of them picked it up quickly.

More Cole Pool time
Violet liked to hang out in the baby pool and made quite a few friends there.
I braved the bowling alley one day with the kids.
The three oldest seemed to like it

Lark was totally bored (she's wearing a combination of Violet and Autumn's gymnastic clothes)
Autumn talked to her primary teacher and they decided to "twin" for church.

Olive loves to sit up and watch all the commotion going on.
Autumn gets to rock climb with the rock climbing club on the Air Force Base once a week.

We took the kids to a city track met.  It was short and so adorable. Especially Lark who wasn't interested in winning, but just wanted to run with her pal Dixie.

*I accidentally rounded up Maverick and Violet's age (I do that since it seems really crazy to have kids aged 3.3.2. and newborn!  Having kids that are 4 makes me seem less of a circus or at least that's what I tell myself) so they had to run with older kids.
These are the only pictures I took at the county fair. (The kids played on inflatables, made a craft, got popcorn, watched a magic show, got amazing balloon animals, and got cotton candy)

August 15: Olive was feeling better for a couple weeks....and then the meds she is taking for acid reflex stopped working and she was cranky whenever she was awake.
Toys that got flushed down the toliet by Lark...Poor Ariel is looking pretty unimpressed.

8-16-18 We had some friends over.  We love the Neary's! They have 5 kids closer in age than we do!
Sneaking snacks when they think I'm not watching!

Olive is three months! She is happy if she is getting the correct dose of meds.  She laughs and smiles.  Most nights she sleeps all through the night. She likes hanging out under the mobile and in her bumbo.  Her fuzzy hair is lightening up to almost blonde.

I'm loosing SO MUCH HAIR.  It is gross and I miss my lush pregnancy hair.
The kids love when dad can make it over to the pool with us. (Autumn bought a mermaid tale with some birthday money a friend gave her for her 1/2 birthday)
Dad taking a break from painting the play set to help Autumn make a ninja obstacle.

Autumn's first day of 1st grade!  Her teacher is Mrs. Morrison.  She is very excited about her teacher, but super bummed her best friend is in the other class.
I took Autumn new clothes shopping, but ended up wearing an old outfit on the first day of school.  Autumn really really wanted high tops and a jean jacket.  So we did deliver on those requests.
