February and Visit to Seattle

February 2, 2020: Olive's first haircut.  Evan has given all the kids haircuts.  He has a steady hand.  She is crying because I took my phone back from her to take these pictures.

Feb 2, 2020: Olive and Lark playing int he newly melted snow/ice.  It took a long time for the snow to melt this year.
Feb 5: The kids playing nicely in the basement.
Feb 8: We don't typically do fun outings with the kids on the weekends, but the kids got lucky this day.  Since Autumn turned 8 we could finally take all the kids to the city pool (you can only take 2 kids per adult under age 8).  The following weeks the kids kept asking to go back to the pool.
Feb 10: the kids filled the muffin tins with water and then decided to drink the water out of the tins.

Feb 10 continued.  Olive and Lark making crafts at our "Play school" group.

February 12: Mom flew with all 5 kids to Seattle to visit Grandma and Grandpa.  The flight attendants and pilots were very helpful.  A nice middle aged woman also sat with Maverick and Autumn and helped them with their drinks etc.
The pilot invited the kids to sit in the cockpit after the flight.

At Grandma's house Lark got into my make-up.  The kids were really excited that grandma took them to McDonalds.

The kids enjoyed listening to books on cassette tape.
I brought the kids all a little a gift for Valentine's day.

The kids specifically asked if we could visit the children's museum.

We lost Olive for long enough for me to get worried at one point.  She climbed down the stairs and went into a different room.

The kids did a lot of playing with all of grandma's toys.
Grandpa took the kids on a few walks with the kids to visit the pig around the corner.
I introduced the kids to one of my favorite board games, "13 Dead End Drive"
The kids requested s'mores like we had last summer at grandma and grandpas.  It was too wet and rainy to build a fire outside so grandpa adapted to the inside fireplace.
Olive loves "monkey yogurts" Dannon yogurt smoothies.
Grandma loves reading to the kids.
My mom got a huge headache after our outing to Chuck E. Cheese but the kids absolutely loved it and some of our trinkets even made it home with us to Wyoming before they broke.

Lark hit the jackpot on this machine and emptied out all the tickets.  I spent a good chunk of time standing at the machine guarding our tickets before it finally ran out of tickets and couldn't dispense any more.

My mom won a respectable amount of tickets playing ski ball.
One of my best friends turned the big 3-0.  We went to dinner played games on a simulator at the resturant.
Feb 23, 2020: the kids love the tv show "The Masked Singer". They put on an impromptu show for Evan and me.

Feb 25: One last visit to the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery before our passes expired.

2/25: Autumn had a spirit day at school; College day.  She also had tie-dye day and career day (she dressed like a ninja warrior).
2/27: We invited some friends over one day to play while our garage doors were replaced.  We don't like to be stuck at home without anything to do.
before: Evan drove out of the garage while the doors were closed.  It bowed the door out and broke the glass.

Half way through

After: the door are better insulated now (especially since the weather stripping I broke off one winter when it froze was replaced), but I do miss the wood doors.  For a few weeks after they were replaced Autumn complained every time we drove up to the house that she hated the new doors.
2/27: Lark got int my makeup again...

2/27: Playing quints with Dixie.
Watching the garage door being replaced.
2/28: Playing at the mall and Olive cozy and ready for her nap.  She has taken a real liking to Lark's Beekle stuffed animal and Autumn's ballerina stuffed animal.

2/28: Since dad was out of town I took the kids to Chick-fil-a and Autumn was acting like a true leader and organized a game with her sisters and the other kids there.

Feb 29: Dad was out of town on business trip in San Diego.  I took the kids to our favorite park in Fort Collins.

Then we went to a huge sports warehouse store.   They have a Ferris wheel you can ride, well if you don't have 5 kids and some of them don't meet the height requirements and the ones that do meet the height require have to have an adult with them to ride. We spent a long time near the bait and tackle section because Maverick was in the bathroom for about 25 minutes. The kids enjoyed the toy section and play structure we found just as we were leaving.

When I finally convinced the kids to leave we went to the parking lot and our car was not there. I started forming a plan of how I was going to get 5 kids home 50 miles away without a car.  Violet was crying because her Elsa doll and coat were in the car.We went back inside.  I found a manager and told him I thought my car was stolen.  He calmly, and thankfully was not condescending, asked me if maybe we walked in the entrance with the fish tank. Needless to say we found our car the kids will probably never let me live it down.
We started bribing Autumn to eat dinner.  We told her we'd pay her $50 if she ate dinner 7 nights in a row.  Since Evan was gone and we ate out twice Autumn got really close 6 nights in a row.  Chilli Verde, one of Evan's favorite meals, did Autumn in on the last night.  She did however have a friend over that night and she ate the meal and said it was very good so Autumn couldn't even complain that I was trying to sabotage her.  Her friend was encouraging her and trying to get her to eat, but to no avail.
