Lately....

Evan is on cardiology service this month.  He likes it.  He got paged over the intercom last week "Dr. Norby please call..."  He works about 10-11 hours a day and half day on Sundays.  He gets home just in time to put Autumn to sleep.  Autumn and I have now visited four of the local libraries.  Each of them have a children's section with play things like puppets and puzzles.  It is tough to make it to the reading times since Autumn takes 2 naps a day and sleeps until 7 or 8 (no complains-just the facts).  Nevertheless we are becoming familiar with our city and the other dozen or so around us (for some reason the cities/townships here are really small geographically).

Autumn's current favorite toy, the barn.  She tries to put the roster off the front and put it in her mouth.  So far unsuccessful.  It took me several weeks to realize there was a switch that turned on some music and animal noises!
Autumn also likes to play with the Desitin and toothpaste containers.

I saw this on Pinterest and since we have so much wall space in our new place I thought I would try it out.  It is really BIG.  I mounted it on a black foam poster board.  I had a gift card  for Office Max so the entire project cost $6.99 with tax.

Family Photos

While in Washington visiting my parents in May my cousin took some family photos for us.  This is the first half of my favorite photos...the second half took too long to load.

Blog Vomit

My computer broke before we moved to MI.  Evan's computer broke when we got here.  Luckily a friend is letting us borrow one for a bit.  Thus a lack of blogging even though we've had one of the busiest months since we have been married.  I would just bag it and start fresh except for the fact that I like to make my blog into a memory book.  So you do not need to read the last TWELVE posts unless you are an immediate family member than you must.  That means you too Hannah (you have to at least look at the pictures).

Dancing with her daddy

She gets very excited and is all smiles when dad comes home from work.  Autumn loves to hang out and dance with her daddy.  This is one of her favorite songs at the moment, "Gummy Bear".  I'm not sure where Evan comes up with these songs, but Autumn sure loves them.

Forth of July

Another Midwestern friend a year ahead of Evan also lives in the Detroit area and they invited us over for a good old fashion BBQ.  We ate food, we did s'mores and then lit fireworks.  It stays light outside until almost ten so the firework show was a little bright and it started to rain, alas the show went on.
I think I look totally mom-ish in this picture ugh

It was windy
watching the fireworks show
Autumn surprisingly really liked the fireworks

Six Months Old

After the party and presents I took the monthly photos of Autumn.  Autumn is becoming quite the little person.  After the long road trip she decided she didn't like the car again.  She lasts about five minutes before fussing.  She likes big people foods, well rice cereal.  She has been to 15 states (Arizona, Utah, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan).  She now sits up unassisted really well.  She fell off the bed for the first time oops.  She started to fake cough as a means of communication.  She still loves going outside.  She is exploring much more now with her hands.  When you hold her she is very squirmy because she likes to look at things, and sometimes look at the side ways.  She grabs and holds onto toys really well.  She likes to look at other little kids.  She stopped sleeping through the night. boo.  She wears size 2 diapers and 3-6 months and 6 months clothes.

Trying avocado...not sure about it yet

Autumn's (half) Birthday

June 24th was Autumn's half birthday.  Since Autumn was born on Christmas Eve we will be celebrating her half birthday like her full birthday.  If she thinks that it is weird then we don't have to celebrate it this way.  For now... party on!  Lucky for us our dear friends the Andersons from Midwestern moved to Michigan for an internship too.  Thus we had them over for dinner, Mac N' Cheese.  Autumn didn't nap at church so she napped during her entire party!  Nora blew out the "Zero" candle for her. And the adults played a board game.

After the party she woke up!  She did not get any of her cake she's just admiring it.

Her gifts

A new hat, a telephone, and a ring toss thingy.
