GUATEMALA

Here are some pictures of our recent trip to Antigua, Guatemala. We primarily went so Evan could volunteer at some medical clinics and get some hands on experience, but we were also able to see the sites while we were there.

Evan overlooking Antigua. We climbed to "the Hill of the Cross" where there was a giant cross and you could look over the entire city.

Some children I met at one of the Clinics

After one one of the days at the clinic...look how cute my scrubs are...PINK PANTHER

Evan at some Mayan Ruins we went to...way cool!!!

Evan is very proud of this picture he took. He climbed half way out of our tour van window to get the shot. It is Volcan Fuego and Volcan Agua.
After we climbed to the top of Volcan Pacaya. Notice the lave in the background. It was very hot. We also rented our walking sticks for 60 cents each from some little kids.

Here we are in front of the LDS church building. I thought we would be in clinics on Sunday, so we didn't pack our Sunday best. It was raining and we had to walk on a cobble stone street so I opted not to wear my cheap-o Old Navy 2 for 5$ flip flops and went with the tennis shoes instead. I purchased the skirt the day before in the market for 75Q (9.50$) Evan at least had a collar on?

Celebrating our Anniversary #1

Evan all dressed up for our date to the Cheesecake Factory for our first wedding anniversary. We celebrated our anniversary a couple weeks late since Evan had finals on our actual anniversary May 20 and then we went out to San Diego for a wedding, but it was worth the wait we had a really good time. The weather was so nice out too, which is rare, so I'm glad we took advantage of sitting outside before it gets too hot. (I also really like the palm trees in the background)

Me at dinner and the Thai appitizer we ordered. Which was super good, next time (if there is a next time) I'll order that for my meal. Thanks to my aunt who gave us a gift card!

We asked the manager to take our picture and he was very tall hence the downward angle. Even still I think it is one of my favorite pictures of me and Evan.

ONE YEAR AGO!
Almost the same...just a little wiser now

We didn't save the top of our wedding cake since we moved to Arizona, so I made a mini-replica of our cake and we ate the top of the replica after dinner. I also put out the table cloth and runner that was used at our wedding reception.

See it is almost the same!!

Evan and me at the beach in Carlsbad, Ca. The night before my best friend's "BIG DAY." Now that we are use to Arizona weather we were quite cold at the beach.

Kristi and her new husband Joesph right after they got married!

The Tracy Girls. My BFF's from high school. (most of them)

Most of the wedding party in front of the gorgeous San Diego Temple

One year and ten days after we got married...in front of the castle like temple...one of my very favorites!

Kindergarten Graduation

This my adorable niece who just graduated from kindergarten. I asked her to sit on the rock so I could get a picture of her and without being prompted she decided to put her hand under her chin!! What a cutie. I didn't get any good pictures of the actual graduation kindergarten. I asked her to sit on the rock so I could get a picture of her and without being prompted she decided to put her hand under her chin. What a cutie!!

My nephew wanted to join in on the picture taking...Look at the BLUE eyes. (he has a fat lip, because he had just gone to the dentist and while his mouth was numb he bit his lip and made it VERY fat...OOPS!)

ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!

This was also the day we celebrated our first wedding anniversary 5-20-09 NOT the date shown on the picture...Too bad Evan had to study for finals. Oh well he is done now for almost three months. I'm so excited...Bring on the HEAT!!

Baby REX

My older sister gave birth to Rex Allen Baker on Friday March 13, 2009 (my birthday, even down to the day of the week I was born on!) I was able to meet my nephew the weekend he was blessed.

Here is me and Rex at Heather and Greg's new place.

This is SOME of the family that came to Rex's blessing and luncheon afterwards. Most of which is my dad's family.

The proud parents Heather and Greg Baker

The proud new Grandma, and Rex's super cute blessing outfit that she made for him! I have a very talented mother.

The proud first time Aunt and Uncle; Hannah and Dustin

Kendra's Wedding

I spent almost a week in April for various friends/family events including one of my best friend's weddings. She was Married April 25th in the Salt Lake Temple. I was honored to be one of her bridesmaids and had a great time seeing old friends. She had a Cowboy/Country theme...so all the bridesmaids (and the Bride and Groom) wore Cowboy boots. And at the reception there were horse saddles to take pictures with.

Above is my little sister Hannah and I as well as a group shot of some friends from my home town of Tracy, California.

Evan couldn't come with me to the wedding because he is still in school, but we were BOTH able to make it to Kendra's open house in Chandler, AZ. Here's the two of us on the hourse saddle!

Evan the All-star

Evan loves sports and has played on numerous intramural teams at Midwestern this year. He told me that he wanted me to video tape him so that our future children would know how fast he was when he was younger. So I used my digital camera and took a few quick videos. Here is my favorite. Evan is in red and jumps in front of the other team's quarterback then gabs the QB's flag very FAST. Then a few minutes later the other team's kicker kicked the ball into my camera lens and broke my digital camera, so this my be the last post with pictures for a while!
