The terrible 10 months

Forget the terrible twos, Autumn is into everything.  She isn't whiny and doesn't throw tantrums so she isn't really terrible, but she does love to explore and is very inquisitive.

Autumn likes to "help" make dinner.  She also "helps" unload the dishwasher.

Sunday walk 10.21.12

A majority of this month we were in Utah hanging out with family.  That is where Autumn learned to climb stairs.  She also waves hello/goodbye now.  Autumn is very mobile she crawls really well and she thinks she is very fast.  She took her first two unassisted steps (10/15).  She still has the same two teeth she had two months ago.  She is still obsessed with the TV remotes, the computer mouse, cell phones.  She likes to pull things out of drawers and cupboards.  She likes to sit on the floor and open and close the bedroom doors.  She wears some 12 months clothes and 9 months stuff and is still in size 3 diapers.  She has a new found LOVE of dogs.  She loved my friend's dog, Albus, when we visited her in Utah.  She likes stuffed animals.  Thankfully she tolerates the stroller so we've gone on a couple long walks.  Her sleep schedule is getting less than perfect.  She use to sleep 12 hours straight through the night, but now she wakes up at least once to eat.  She now says "DaaaaD."  It is adorable.  One day when I didn't get her up from her nap when she wanted me to, she started yelling for dad.

This month was especially hard to get pictures of Autumn.

Being bribed with yogurt bites.

She has very good balance.  She can grab for things while standing.  Wooo so cool right?

Yes I'm done Autumn:)

Baby Do

The day has come.  I was finally ready to cut Autumn's mullet.  When I suggested we give our baby a haircut it took Evan a week or so to agree to it.  It is shorter than I thought it would be, but I think she looks adorable and much older.

AFTER

Like my brother said, the party is all gone, now it is just business!
Yes, I realize I have my child in a Bumbo ON an elevated surface, but Evan and I were both watching her very closely

I told Autumn to hold up her pony tail that we just cut off and what does she do with it?  She put it in her mouth of course!

It's Fall Ya'll

When we got back from our Utah adventure we were welcomed home with FALL.  I made Evan turn the heater on in the apartment.  Yesterday we went out on a little family adventure to participate in a Michigan autumn tradition of eating donuts and hot apple cider.

2 feet-ish tall.  We just got there and she already took off her shoe.

"what does a pig say?"  Autumn loved the animals.  We saw pigs, sheep, goats, and chickens.

I love cut out picture things!
Cute hat right?  My BFF Kendra made it for her when she was born.  My little peanut just barely fits into it now!
Checking her blind spot.

I love it when strangers know how to take decent photos.

Perfect outfit for the pumpkin patch.

Then the student becomes the teacher

The morning we left to return to Michigan I didn't feel well.  The next morning since I have such a great husband he offered to go to the store and get some milk and other necessities while I took a nap.  I woke up to Evan bringing in the groceries, which promoted the question "were Lucky Charms on Sale?" Evan eagerly explained that not only were they on sale, but for every two boxes you buy you get a free movie ticket. So he bought all the boxes on the self.  I was beaming with pride.  Evan then proceeded to call his family members and tell them about the deal and promoted a trip to the other Kroger in town.

Such a proud moment for me!
I went out shopping last night and noticed a couple other varieties of General Mills cereal with free movie tickets, and they were on promotion buy 5 get $5 off your next order.  Which made them $7.50 for 5 boxes plus 2.5 movie tickets.

What is the college version of a "High School Harry"?

Did you know someone in high school that after they graduated kept returning to visit their teachers, or hanging out at high school parties and spending their Friday nights at football games?  Yeah you know the ones, High School Harrys!  So what do you call one that can't leave the college glory days alone...Alumni!
Evan and I decided to stick around Utah for the rest of the week and enjoy some homecoming festivities before heading home.

This picture was taken to show the "Y" on the mountain, but as I was talking the picture Autumn got distracted by a girl walking by who had a flower in her hair.
Then the sweet Zoobie stopped and held out the flower  so we could get a picture.  Only at BYU do you find people who would do that without even being asked.
Since Evan and I weren't married in college, and hence didn't have any kids, we didn't get to do the cute "married with kids while in college" thing so we went and fed the ducks.

Playing at the Eyring Science Building.
This is where it got real high school harry-ish....Evan and Autumn at the Cougareat.

We went down to campus to participate in "True Blue football Foam."  It is a giant slip-n-slide of blue foam.  I felt real stupid showing up after I found out we had to have a school ID to get in.  So we stood behind the gate and watched my brother participate, who only went because he knew we were going.  He said he felt silly being there because it was a "freshmen thing," which naturally made me feel even sillier, but not Evan...

That dark blue spot to the left is Noah.  He is "skiing" down the slip-N-slide

Like I said previous Evan was not at all embarrassed for being at the "freshmen" event.  In fact as we were leaving Evan wanted to get a picture to "prove" he was there.  So I asked a passer byer to snap a photo for us.  Then Evan proceeded to invite the photo snapper's friends to join in the photo.  My poor brother was a little embarrassed.

Then it was my turn to get embarrassed.  Evan wanted to take a picture in front of the testing center as we walked back to our car.  "Ok, that's weird but whatever" I thought.  Then he wanted to make it look like he was studying for a test.  "Fine.  Sit on that bench", I said.  Then Evan asked the poor stranger on the bench if he could borrow a piece of paper to make the photo more authentic.  He said "sure" but when asked if he wanted to be in the picture he definitively stated, "NO."  I was embarrassed.
The next night we went to a BYU woman's soccer game with Noah and Hannah and ate J Dawgs.

Four Generations

After I picked Evan up from the airport we had some lunch then headed to Grandpa Norby's house.  Evan is just like his dad who is just like his dad.  Evan is 30 years younger than his dad, who is 30 years younger than his dad, who is 30 years younger than his dad.  Each one is the second child.  So naturally Evan told me we had to have a child born in 2012 and  the child had  to be a boy and our second child.  Oops missed that opportunity.  Grandpa Norby has some great stories, it just so happens he tells the same ones over and over.  He is a little chatty Cathy just like Evan.  Grandpa Norby also served in World War II.

Four Generations
After this picture was taken and we were saying goodbye Autumn lovingly grabbed Grandpa's loose skin on his cheek and stretched.  She was in awe.  It was rather funny (and yes she is chewing on my hoop earring).
