Baby Blessing

Before I get to the baby blessing look at this cute picture of "Dr. Handsome".  The twins are getting older (duh) consequently they are showing more personality.
We blessed the babies in church on Sunday October 26.  We are lucky to have some of Evan's family in town and lots of family traveled to the event as well (Evan's sister Meagan, my brother Noah, my sister Hannah, my dad's parents and my parents)
Family arrived and met the twins!

I wanted Autumn to dress in her Halloween outfit to match Violet and Maverick, but when she saw what I was wearing she wanted to by my twin.  Here she is planking...or rather refusing to pose for a picture...excuse the loud flash on my face.  We all went bowling and I was surprised at some of my family members' skills.

Autumn said, "take a picture of me chewing my pretzels"  Also She did end up changing into her Halloween outfit...then changed her shirt.  She averages 3 wardrobe changes per day.
My sister Hannah thought it'd be great to put the babies inside a pumpkin....I obliged.  She carved a girl face and a boy face on her pumpkin.

Aunt Meagan.  She was also very patient with Autumn and played all her silly games, like "Alligator" .  Where you hide under blankets so the alligators won't get you.
The finished products.  I was very impressed...although there was no winner and no prizes.

Duck!

Just in case the babes got their outfits dirty I snapped a few photos the night before.  Grandma Linda made Maverick's outfit and my mom made Violet's outfit.  I think both turned out perfect!

I thought I should take these pictures now while both of them are happy....It didn't last long.

Violet in my blessing shoes...both the blankets are from my aunt Sandi.

Some of the gang after church.  Hannah insisted we take them at the church with the brick instead of back at the house.  (Nor pictured...David, Linda, and Cameron Norby, Dorthy and Sune Robins, Corrine Christison, Becky, Stewart and Sophie North, Jackson, Lyndzee, and Dustin Durham, Suzanne and Mabel Thomas)
I still think it is so weird to see my family of...FIVE
Cheyenne is SOOO windy!
Hannah took this picture of me and my college roommate...after she told us to take a "cute" picture.  AS IF!

That Other Kid

So I do have more than just the twins...so this post is dedicated to Autumn...although I did include pictures of her siblings.

Autumn singing to Violet from the Primary Children's Song book.  She found that song book in her bookcase and has carried it around since, and requests to sleep with it too!

Climbing a rock wall at a new park we discovered...The best video of her climbing was too long.

Autumn and Violet on Violet's first day at church (last week)

Maverick's spiffy outfit...which I've had since before Autumn was born...just too cute not to buy at 50 cents.
The babes are growing!! I've had to go to storage and and get their next size up in clothes...but I hadn't put them in my favorite matching newborn outfit yet!  So here they are.  So long newborn clothes (they have to stay in newborn diapers until we run out though).
 Autumn climbing the rock wall.
My little sister Hannah came to visit.  We went on a walk and she said it was the most embarrassing thing she's ever done.  Autumn carried her "girl" in her wrap the whole time too.
Autumn is hit or miss on naps lately.  I went into her room after her "nap" the other day to discover this huge mess!  She had climbed up on her trampoline (which will now be taken to storage) and got down her church dresses and sweaters to dress up her bears and girl.  there is a huge mess under the trampoline that you can't see.  Picking up the mess is worth it if she stays in her room so I can take a nap.
You was very proud of herself!

New Plan

It is a lot trickier taking care of two babies than you might think.  Almost everyday when Evan comes home from work I say "new plan".  And we try something different.  I went back to breast feeding at night because bottle feeding and pumping was taking forever.  That only lasted a few nights because the breast feeding depleted my milk supply! And now a week later they feed so much faster.  I can feed, burp, and change both of them in the middle of the night in 45 minutes.  Then I still have to pump so Evan has milk to feed them in the morning.  (That is our newest "plan".  I take the 2 am feeding and he does the 6 am feeding and gets Autumn breakfast and puts a movie on for her while he gets ready for work.)
I am not breast feeding them here, but they are on their special twin breast feeding pillow and Autumn is opening up her Halloween costume Grandma Pattie made.
Most of the pictures we have of the babies are them laying on the ground.  I hardly ever put Autumn down.  But with two babies I worry so much about keeping them on the same schedule that I don't want to snuggle one to sleep before the other is ready to nap.  So they spend a lot of time on the floor "playing" with each other.  You might think you get double the baby cuddles with two babies but it is quite the opposite.  One thing I didn't expect with having twins is how hard it is to bond with each one.  Not to mention I've had lots of helpers around so that is even less time I get to spend with each of my babies.
This is what my house looks like "cleaned up!"  Where am I suppose to put two infant seats in my house?  Also you can see my beloved seat in the back where I spend lots of hours pumping milk for the babies (and blogging).  There is also a green crate on the fireplace which is our "command center".  It has blankets/diapers/wipes/burp clothes and extra changes of clothes for the kiddos, so I don't have to venture too far!
AWWW!  I had to take a picture with them in these outfits before they out grew them.  I feel like they are growing a a quicker rate than Autumn did.  They are outgrowing their newborn diapers, but we have a few boxes left so they'll have to tough it out a bit longer.  Also both of them appear to still have blue eyes and they are both losing their hair and looking like old men, especially Maverick (he also is starting to get one of those "needs to go into" huge heads)
Autumn joined in but refused to wear pants...

Playing rocket ship with dad on one of his day's off of work.  He used a vacation week to help with the kiddos.  Not much of a vacation.
Evan is very proud of this superior burrito wrap.  They have yet to "Houdini" out of his swaddles.
Evan feeding both babies and watching football. (that white thing is our "rabbit ears")
We convinced Evan's parents to help us with the kids so we could take Autumn to a pumpkin patch...But we couldn't convince Autumn to look at the camera for a picture.

We got lots of "awws"  with this cure outfit (thanks Kenzie)
Autumn didn't want to be left out, but she didn't want to look at the camera either (I'm sensing a trend here).  There were a few strangers who were standing near by that also tried to get her attention.  Some lady also said, "that is so cute I want a picture too".  Yup I have cute kids!

Autumn still doesn't know how to be gentle with her siblings.  But she found a children's song book and has been singing them songs when they cry.
Corn launcher.  Grandpa David got the closest to the target out of anyone I saw that day!

Oh what a difference a year makes!

ONE MONTH

The babes swaddled (poorly might I add) in their pack 'n play bassinet
Autumn wore a new outfit to church and asked to get her picture taken.  I'm so happy she is warming up to the idea of having her picture taken.
Maverick
Violet...always so serious, even while sleeping.
We bought a deep freezer...luckily.  The only things in the freezer are breast milk and ice cream.  So glad we can buy more than one flavor of ice creme now!  We have even more milk now-over 150 bags.  Luckily I produce milk like a cow.  However it is not a very glamours process.
Setting up Halloween decorations.  Yes it is Autumn's bedtime and I'm in PJs...still (or again not sure).  However I have lost 40 pounds so far so hopefully I'll be able to wear real clothes soonish...too bad I gained 60 pounds with these kiddos (the doctor said with twins you should gain 35 pounds I laughed at that one-gained 40 with Autumn) so we have a little ways to go still.

Dad and the babes

The kiddos in matchy matchy outfits.
It got cold all of a sudden...Cheyenne apparently has Summer and Winter...no spring or fall.

ONE MONTH OLD PHOTO SHOOT.
I knew I needed to keep it simple or I'd never be able to keep up with the monthly pictures.  So here they are on our couch in our poorly lit living room.
This is Autumn trying to make Maverick "Smile"  gee thanks big sis
