One Month

Lark is one month old.  Fastest/longest month ever.  My mom was here for two weeks and then left when Lark was 10 days old.  Then a few days later postpartum  anxiety hit and it hit hard.  I was so scared for no reason, which scared me even more since I knew I wasn't being rational.  Evan was very understanding and very supportive.  He took the next few days off of work until my mom could come back out.  I'm so grateful to my parents and the sacrifices they make for my family.  A little Zoloft, support of my husband and some help from my mom and I am feeling much better.
One day she'll be more photogenic...ONE MONTH

Autumn and my mom spent several hours completing these puzzles.
I kept forgetting to get a picture of the "Welcome Home" banner Autumn and my mom made for Lark...but here it is.
My mom helped me take all 4 kids to the park.  Luckily the twins think it is fun to hold Autumn's hand

 Blanket from my aunt Gail.
I hid Lark in the corner in the playroom one day while we were playing...because Violet and Maverick still don't know how to be gentle.

Lark is a pretty good sleeper.  She is just so content.  She often hangs out by herself in her room...for safety reasons. And at one month I finally gave her her first bath!

Photo Shoot

I got the pictures back from Lark's newborn photo shoot.  It was a fast shoot, pretty painless, and I think the pictures turned out great.

The final week

The final week of pregnancy is probably the longest week ever.  Not just because you are tired and really pregnant but EVERYONE reminds you that you are indeed still pregnant.

We had a warm Saturday and Evan, the kids, and Evan's parents worked in the yard all day.

DUE DATE: April 10th...Autumn got in the habit of asking the new baby "When are you going to come out???"

Autumn is our resident fashion coodinator...She loves to pick out everyone's outfits...and she loves being "matchy-matchy" with Violet.  (Typical morning do for Violet)

My mom came into town Wednesday night.  My family was placing bets on how long my mom would be in town before I had my baby.  Before going to bed that night I gave my mom lots of instructions on how to care for the kids, what they eat etc.  In the morning I was still pregnant, and the next morning, and the next morning....
I had quite a few social engagements that weekend which I didn't play on attending since well...I was 40+ weeks pregnant, but I kept being pregnant.  So Friday night I went out to dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday.  On Saturday I went to a baby shower and a first birthday party for a friends' kid.
40 weeks and 6 days pregnant.  That night I went to bed early-ish (after I finished painting my nails of course) because I felt like I had the flu.

Fourth Child

I thought I would post some updated pictures of Lark...and realized there aren't very many.  Oh I'm sorry fourth child, however it makes it much easier to blog!  Lark is my favorite baby.  That might be because I didn't know what I was doing with Autumn and was basically afraid of her.  Maverick cried all the time and had no patience.  Violet was a calm baby but unfortunate for her guilty by association.  Lark is so angelic.  I've never been too mushy about babies, but this one is different.  She is so easy to love and so easy going.  And now that nursing is easier...she is pretty perfect.

Autumn requested that we do a photo shoot with their matchy matchy shirts.  Maverick was all about it.

 Violet was not...

Grandpa Brian came for a few days!
Grandpa David got back from Phoenix and came to meet Lark
Grandma Pattie with the quilt she made for Lark
She looks so different now that her puffy checks are gone

I love pictures of daddy's with their kids.
Violet and Maverick looking in on their sister.  Moments after I took this picture Violet learned how to get all the way in the crib!  These squirrels have to watched very closely.
Autumn drew this picture of Lark (on the left wrapped in a blanket, in her bassinet), Violet (with hair in her face), and the little guy is Maverick
Sister cuddles! Autumn likes to call her Lark-a-dark!
