My sister Heather and her family came to visit for a few days before we all headed to Idaho for a family reunion. We tried to sample a little bit of everything from Cheyenne Frontier Days.
Pancake breakfast! The Kiwanis club in town (along with other sponsors and volunteers) provide pancakes, ham, and coffee to thousands of people over three breakfasts during the week. They have a special line for families and strollers. They have boy scouts and girl scouts carry your tray with plates through the line and to your spot. It is the fastest longest line you'll ever stand in. When I go to events like this it really makes me love Cheyenne.
On of the many Cheyenne boots.
The firefighters at the event let the kids play in their firetruck. The little boys were in heaven.
We walked down frontier village and then did a "behind the shoots" tour. The type of gate that most rodeos use to hold the cowboy and bull back is called a "Cheyenne shoot" developed at Cheyenne Frontier days.
Then we went to Indian Village and watched the indian dancing...Oh yeah, and Maverick got a hair cut. He looks SO different!
These little boys are 6 months apart and had lots of fun playing together.
Saturday we headed to the parade. I love our Parades. You can show up 5 minutes before it starts and find plenty of space for 8 kids and 3 adults (Heather's husband went mountain biking with a friend of ours).
These little girls are only 6 weeks apart...and WILL BE FRIENDS!
After the parade we walked over to the State Museum and played. Then that afternoon it rained and the kids were forced to play inside. Then the next day we went to church, took naps, and played outside.
