Klinton's Visit/1st half Frontier Days

Cheyenne Frontier Days is a 10 day rodeo plus a bunch of other stuff.  We've been here for 5 Frontier days and this is the first time we saw the "cattle drive" which is the official kick off for the event (which actually happens a week before it actually starts).  We just walked out to the end of our street before church.

Autumn was NOT impressed will the smell of the event.
Maverick and Violet however loved it.  They also had carriages that carried the Mayor and other Cheyenne "royalty" and the Rodeo Queens road on horses and waved to us as well.

One of the perks of living in the same town as Evan's parents is people come to visit them and we get to see them too!  My nephew came to visit Grandma and Grandpa for a week and it was lots of fun to spend some time with him.
We roasted marshmallows and hot dogs out back one night.

Autumn really wanted to play board games with Klinton and be a big kid.

Klinton posing with the tree we planted in honor of his big brother.
Another Cheyenne Frontier day "firsts" was visiting the Air Force Base while they hosted D.A. Fort Russell Days.  They had pony rides, the kids saw an attack dog demonstration, we got to sit in a real helicopter, and saw lots of volunteer war time reenactments.

We went to a parade with David, Linda, and Klinton too.

Pancake breakfast at the depot on Klinton's last day in town.
We were bored one afternoon so we went and bought shaved ice...and it rained on us.  I really hate the weather in Cheyenne.
Maverick doesn't like any treat that is cold.  He doesn't like popsicles, shaved ice, ice cream, smoothies or the likes.
We went with some friends from church to see the Indian dancing at Indian Village. (always one of my favorite activities)

  1. I love Violet's face in the cut out with Klinton (did he change the spelling of his name for some reason?) And just how many parades do they have for frontier days?

    1. Klinton has always been with a "K". His siblings names all start with K. "Kallie" and "Kenneth Wade"

4 Parades for frontier days (plus the cattle drive)
